EWS — Economically Weaker Section
EWSFor households with an annual income up to ₹3 lakh. Priority is given to Maharashtra domicile holders.
₹2,000 – ₹5,000 / month
Eligible if
- Household annual income ≤ ₹3,00,000
- Applicant or spouse does not own a pucca house anywhere in India
- At least one adult in the household has Aadhaar
Not eligible if
- You or your spouse already own a house in Maharashtra
- You have defaulted on a prior MHADA allotment
LIG — Low Income Group
LIGFor households with an annual income between ₹3 lakh and ₹6 lakh.
₹5,000 – ₹10,000 / month
Eligible if
- Household annual income between ₹3,00,001 and ₹6,00,000
- Applicant does not own a pucca house in the same district
- Valid Aadhaar and PAN
Not eligible if
- Income above ₹6,00,000 in the last financial year
- Outstanding MHADA dues
MIG — Middle Income Group
MIGFor households with an annual income between ₹6 lakh and ₹12 lakh.
₹10,000 – ₹20,000 / month
Eligible if
- Household annual income between ₹6,00,001 and ₹12,00,000
- Valid Aadhaar and PAN
- Maharashtra domicile or active employment in Maharashtra
Not eligible if
- Income above ₹12,00,000 in the last financial year
- Own more than one residential property in Maharashtra
Migrant Worker — Special Scheme
MigrantDormitory-style and single-room units for interstate and intrastate migrant workers employed in Maharashtra.
₹1,500 – ₹4,000 / month
Eligible if
- Employed on a registered site, unit or establishment in Maharashtra
- Employer-issued letter or e-Shram card
- Aadhaar with current mobile linkage
Not eligible if
- Already allotted a MHADA rental unit that is still active
- Maharashtra domicile with permanent residence within 50 km of the unit
Documents you will need
Keep digital copies (PDF or JPG, < 2 MB each) ready before you start the application.
- Aadhaar — with the mobile linked for OTP
- PAN card — required for LIG and MIG
- Income proof — latest ITR, Form 16, or salary slips (3 months)
- Residence proof — utility bill, rental agreement, or ration card
- Domicile certificate — if claiming Maharashtra domicile priority
- Caste / category certificate — if claiming SC / ST / OBC reservation
- Affidavit of non-ownership — for EWS and LIG applicants
- Employer letter / e-Shram card — for the migrant worker scheme
